and Adults in Partnership Website!

CHAPS stands for Children, Horses, and Adults in PartnerShip because we work as a team to provide therapeutic riding and equine assisted activities to Sheridan and Johnson county residents.

Our Therapy Instructors are certified, Registered Instructors by NARHA and hold BA Degrees in Equine Studies.

Our Executive Director holds a BA Degree in Equine Science and a Masters in Nonprofit Management. Our staff follows the rules and guidelines set forth by NARHA and our goal is to have each instructor certified at the registered level by Fall, 2010.

CHAPS has in indoor and outdoor arena for riding, and several hundred acres of fields and trails for mounted sessions Our facility features a heated office, 5 permanent stalls, grooming areas and a feed and tack room.  During the winter, we rent classroom space at Highland Park Recreation Center for classroom sessions and work on our Equicizer, ‘Elliott,’ donated by First Federal Savings Bank and Sheridan Elks PBO Lodge 520.  We will no longer cancel classes due to inclement weather, instead they will be moved to the Highland Park Recreation Center at 1301 Avon.
